No matter how you feel about marriage....... the majority still voted Yes.

I really wish I didn't have to write this, but can everyone please stop with Prop 8? We vote for a reason and the voters have made there voices clear. But some people want to be louder than others. Facebook statuses are not going to help.

Now let me say this first, I voted No on Prop 8 and here is the reason. As a Christian (I was about to type Catholic but decided not to since I've heard people blame them), I believe that marriage in between a man and a woman, enough said. That's what I truly believe in and always have. I respect and honor the gay community. I voted No simply because I feel there should be a seperation between church and state. I've ignored the propaganda from both sides of the campaign because I think they are both flawed and deceptive. Marriage in the a House of God should be between a man and a woman, but if same-sex law marriage was allowed in a state then I feel there is no reason for me to make an opinion about it as long as it is not in a House of God. So I chose No.

However, the majority has still voted and it is Yes on Prop 8. Now I should not have an opinion on that because that was not what I voted for. Simply put, the majority has voted.

But what really ticks me off is that people want to blame MY religion. Calling MY community "religious bigots, discriminative". Are WE so easy to blame? A church cannot be perfect but I believe in a higher entity that is, and that is who I worship when I am in MY church. I cannot give you a perfect definition of marriage etiher because I am man; weak and unknowing. WE will not no why people voted Yes, WE don't know if religion is truly to blame, but I do know that after I pass on I hope to know someday because I believe MY God exists and will tell me an answer.

Go ahead and blame MY church, other churches, propaganda, and "ignorant pieces of ****" that voted Yes. Because that REALLY helps our government. But be proud that you voted because that was how you made your voices heard... whatever side you have chosen.

My views are merely opinion, there are no facts added to this post. I wrote this in 3 minutes, its up to you if you want to spend the next half-hour to two researching facts and pointing out my errors. That's all on you.

So if you got this message and wondering why you were invited even if we weren't that close, read the last paragraph below. And if it isn't a surprise you're invited then, YEAH!

This is my 23rd birthday and I would like to make it a big one, since it will be the last time I celebrate in SLO. I'm also trying to invite people from back home or up north because this is your LAST CHANCE to VISIT.

I decided to make it an accumulation of some great SLO memories; hikes, beach, bars, food, bars, grub, and other fun things. If you're and alumni and haven't been to SLO in awhile, here's you chance to pick up some good food!

Here's what I tentatively have planned. You don't have to go to all these events but feel free to come to ANY of them.

All are invited so if I missed some invites, please spread the word!

Friday:
Afternoon - Arrival of any visitors
Evening - Dinner at Firestones

Saturday:
Morning - Breakfast Buzzing, watching LARPs,
Afternoon - downtown, lunch at Pismo, beaching it, Bali's
Evening - Rest, Karaoke, Dinner at Sushiya, Bars

Sunday:
Morning: Bishops Hike, Morro Bay,final goodbyes

Any in between time will be visiting downtown, sight-seeing, or just playing some guitar hero!

I'll update as ideas some along or maybe you could suggest some.

I really hope some of you guys can make it since as you know, I have been really inactive and I miss hanging out with anybody. I rarely get calls or invites from people so maybe we can reconnect. No one has visited me in SLO so far, some of you i never hung out with outside of school, havent heard much from YFC in awhile, nor have I gotten to meet any new PCEs; so I just want to make my last year worth it. Hope some of you can make it!
